Ralph Eugene Pugh was born on June 11, 1942 to the union of the late Lola Mae Pugh and Willie Pugh in Dallas, TX. Ralph was raised in church growing up and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at a young age. Ralph always seemed to find a way to make those around him howl with laughter, throughout his life. Ralph enjoyed listening to all genres of music.
Ralph attended Lincoln High School in Sunny South Dallas. On September 29, 1962 Ralph met the love of his life Billie Pugh. As a young man he learned to work hard and to take on whatever job was available to support his family. Ralph worked as a truck driver at Earth Grains, Rainbow Bakery Company, and Oak Farms for many years. Ralph enjoyed cooking, dancing, driving his Lincoln Town Car everywhere, playing cards, and dominoes. Ralph was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Mavericks. There was never a dull moment when Ralph and his friend Kenneth would argue about sports on a daily basis. Kenneth and Ralph were friends for over 30 years. Their friendship turned into a brotherhood over the years. Ralph was a great mentor and role model to many young men and youth. Ralph was a classic man who had a passion for dressing up with stylish hats.
After retirement Ralph spent most of his time with his great grandchildren attending basketball, school programs, and football games. Ralph always looked forward to spending time with his family for the holidays. He was a good father who always took care of his children and did the best he could to teach and guide them. He was a loving grandfather and “great-grand” father to many. A man who never cared much about himself and who even in his final days would say to his loved ones, “just to take care of “Billie” when I’m gone." Ralph was a strong, proud and good man. He was loved and will be missed by many!
