At 21 he met the love of his life, Esperanza Martinez, in Estacion Ramirez, Tamaulipas, Mexico. They married in 1959 and in 1968 moved to Dallas, TX. They raised five children: Julio, Margarita, Alma Leticia, Jorge, and Raymond. Ramon spent over 30 years working for the City of Dallas Love Field Aviation Department from which he retired in October 2003.
He loved reading the newspaper, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and playing volleyball. But what he loved most in life was spending time with his family who brought him immeasurable joy. His first instinct was always to put others before himself. He wouldn’t hesitate to help a stranded motorist or a stranger in need. He was a man who always jumped into action. He was a man of faith and helped teach those close to him that good intentions and actions of kindness speak louder than words.
In 2010 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease which led to his decline and passing. He will be always be remembered as a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle and Brother who would do anything for his family.
Ramon is preceded in death by his parents Sabino and Guadalupe; brothers Jesus and Benito; and granddaughter Felicia Piña.
He is survived by wife Esperanza; children; Julio and wife Bridget, Margarita Piña and husband Ruben, Alma Chavez-Fagg and husband Stevan, Jorge and wife Christina, Raymond and wife Lucia.
