Today, we gather to honor the life of Rashad Jackson, who was born on February 1, 1978, a blessing to his parents and a light to all who would come to know him. From the very beginning, Rashad brought energy and joy into every room he entered, his vibrant spirit radiating warmth and kindness.
Rashad was known for his loving and joyful nature. His laughter was contagious, and his presence lifted the spirits of everyone around him. He shared genuine kindness, always offering encouragement and support to his family and friends. Rashad’s impact was felt not only in moments of celebration, but also in times of challenge, where his compassion and understanding made a profound difference.
Of all his accomplishments, Rashad was most proud of his children. His deep love for them was evident in every word and action. He cherished their achievements, celebrated their dreams, and instilled in them the values that will serve as his lasting legacy. Rashad’s love for his children was unwavering, and his memory will forever live on in their hearts.
He lived by the words of Prince Vegeta: “There’s no room for the weak… Only those who fight with everything they’ve got.” Rashad faced life’s challenges with courage and determination, inspiring those around him to give their best and to never lose hope.
Rashad was preceded in death by his grandparents, paternal: Walter D. Jackson and Effie Jackson; maternal: James Page and Thelma Page; his beloved sister, Brianna Gardner; and his nephew, Jamarion. Though their absence was felt deeply, he carried their memories with him and honored their legacy in his own life.
He’s survived by his adoring children, daughter Makeiyla Rashay Jackson and son Darion Rashad Jackson; devoted parents Cynthia Jackson and Walter Jackson (Dorthy); loving siblings Deidre (Michael) Nolley-Butler; Jamaal (Tiffany) Jackson Sr, and Bernadette Pierce. His nieces and nephews, Darius (Nundi) Nolley, Starla, Jamaal Jr., Tirrany, Tiara, and Kimarri. His great-nieces and great-nephews, Aryanna; Jayce, Daria, Nyomi, Za’riyah, Lilyanna and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will always cherish his memory.
As we reflect on Rashad’s life, we remember the joy and laughter he brought, the love he gave so freely, and the strength he showed through every trial.
