Rebecca Ann Smith

Becky grew up in Dallas, Texas where she attended both Sanger and SS Conner Elementary Schools, Gaston Middle School, and graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1972. Becky then resided in Mesquite, Texas for over 40 years, before recently moving to Forney, Texas, where she passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, following an 8 year battle with ovarian cancer.

Born to Harold and Ettie Wallace of Dallas, Texas, Becky grew up with six brothers and sisters and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She then married the love of her life, William Mike Smith, on June 24, 1972 after dating for three years. Married for 19,237 days, Mike and Becky created a beautiful life together, raising daughters Jennifer Smith and Mary “Ali” Cooper, both of Forney, Texas.

Becky had a long career in banking, where she not only worked her way up from teller to multiple management positions, but more importantly created some of her most cherished friendships. While her career was important to her, her family was always her priority.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Smith, daughters Jennifer Smith and Ali Cooper, son-in-law Austin Cooper, and grandson Aiden Smith. Becky is also survived by siblings Jim Wallace (Susan), Terry Ballew, and Ray Wallace (Laura), and numerous nieces & nephews. She was also greatly anticipating the arrival of granddaughter Anna Grace Cooper, due April 10.

Becky is preceded in death by baby Kathy Ann Smith (1982), her parents Harold and Ettie Wallace, sisters Ava Grimsley, Brenda Palmore and Shirley Garrison.

Becky will be missed beyond comprehension, but we are grateful to have the comfort of knowing that she is now whole and healed in the arms of Jesus, reunited with those who have preceded her.

A visitation for Rebecca will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Community Life Church – Sunnyvale, 610 US-80, Sunnyvale, TX 75182. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
