

Regina Santiago Nuñez, 88, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side in the early morning of Monday, October 20, 2025.
She was born on October 14, 1937, in Manila, Philippines and came to the United States in January of 1968 settling in Richmond, CA with her husband and children. She worked for Philippine Airlines, The Wyatt Company, and Coates Kenney, Inc. as an administrative secretary throughout her career, retiring at the age of 68.
Regie, Rei, Sis. Regie as she was affectionately known, was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family and others before her own. She was a strong and beautiful woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our “Mama” was a source of inspiration to us all with her infectious smile and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
She was a devoted Catholic and served throughout her adult life as a Eucharistic Minister at St. David’s Catholic Church in Richmond, CA and at The Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, CA. She served as a Rectora and Mentor to the Filipino Cursillo Community in the San Francisco Bay Area. In her spare time, she loved cooking, shopping, making jewelry and playing Bingo with her closest friends. She was a survivor of WWII when the Japanese invaded the Philippines.
Mama, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace in heaven with Papa, Ronald and your loved ones.
Regina is survived by her loving children Maricar Santiago Nuñez Garcia and Gilbert Fernandez Garcia (son-in-law), Romel Anthony Santiago Nuñez, her loving grandchildren, Alexander Paul Nuñez Edgar, Brandon James Nuñez Edgar, Alysha Kathlene Nuñez, and Julian Christopher Nuñez. She also leaves behind her first cousin Fe Nisperos and nieces and nephews: Adrian C. Santiago, Augustin C. Santiago, Almarie C. Santiago, Aurora C. Santiago.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carlos G. Nuñez (08/15/2025), her son, Ronald Jude Santiago Nuñez (07/15/1969). Her grandmother Margarita Ocson Briones. Her parents, Candida Ocson Santiago Caleon (Mother), Luciano Santiago (Father) and siblings: Austacio Ocson Santiago, Emmanuel O. Santiago, Nicanor Ocson Santiago, Consuelo Ocson Santiago. Her first cousin Esper Nisperos (twin of Fe Nisperos), and her nieces: Mary Ann C. Santiago and Marilyn C. Santiago.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11 am CST at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220.
Services will begin with a Catholic Mass followed by the Internment of the Urn. Services will also be live streamed on Facebook.
