

Rhonda Sue Edwards Riley was born on June 18, 1954, in Whitney, TX to Lometa Edwards and Alfred Edwards Sr., the oldest of 5 children. She gained her Heavenly reward on September 18, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
She attended Red Oak High School, graduating in 1972. In that same year, she went to East Texas State University with the love of her life, Thomas Riley, from 1972 to 1973. On June 30, 1973, the pair married in Ferris, TX, in front of many family and friends. The couple lived in Red Oak the duration of their 52-year marriage, raising 3 sons. Rhonda worked for Red Oak ISD for several years where she had the opportunity to touch many young minds.
She then transitioned to working at Duncanville Dermatology Clinic for a short time then at The Shape Shop in Red Oak, TX. She was a member of Park Meadows Church in Waxahachie, TX, where she attended services as her health allowed for more than 20 years. She enjoyed watching baseball with her husband and kids, crocheting and knitting, and spending time with her siblings and extended family.
She is survived by her mother, Lometa Edwards, of Red Oak, husband of 52 years, Thomas Riley, of Red Oak, her sons Michael Riley of Waxahachie, Marcus Riley and spouse, JoAnn, of Howe, TX, and Matthew Riley of McKinney, TX, along with sisters Paula Noteboom and family of Midlothian, TX, Phylis Cobb and family of Duncanville, TX, brothers John Edwards and family of Red Oak, TX, Alfred D. Edwards Jr. and family of Red Oak, TX, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Edwards, her son, Gregory, and her loving in-laws, Tip and Patsy Riley.
