

Richard M. Cantu went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2013. He was born July 13, 1940 in Dallas, TX to Nolberto Benavidez Cantu and Joaquina Martinez. Richard served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Was a graduate of Crozier Tech. He worked for Morgan Brake and Clutch for 8 years as a warehouse supervisor. An avid golfer and a Dallas Cowboy fan, Richard especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He was a dedicated member and usher for St. Monica Catholic Church. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Richard will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elisa Cantu Valencia and his brother, Stevan M. Cantu. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Forman-Cantu. Richard's two daughters, Patricia Cantu-Castilleja and Michelle Ranzer, husband Doug; brothers, Jesse M. Cantu, Simon M. Cantu and wife Rachel and John Cantu and wife Linda; sister, Trini Torres and husband Joe; 8 grandchildren, Michael Andre, Emily Ann, Jaclyn, Reagan, Reese, Riley, Ryan and Ryder; 3 step-children, Mary Gilbert, Lisa Galaviz and Frederick Forman; 6 step grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; Aunt Luz Ortiz; Uncle Joe Martinez; other family and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Rd., Dallas, TX 75220 with Father Stephen W. Bierschenk officiating. Military honors will be provided for the interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, in Rowlett, TX.
