

Bob was born on October 24, 1931, in Dallas to Leonard Edward Dunn and stepmother Helen Dunn. He grew up in the Dallas area and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 as a Petty Officer 3rd Class during the Korean War.
In October 1955, Bob married the love of his life, Shirley Imogene Esner. Together they shared many wonderful years and raised three children: Terry, Ricky, and Vickie. Bob worked as a truck driver for 20 years before retiring from Johnson Controls.
Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working with his horses. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Bob was known for his strength, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need. To his family, he will always be remembered as a hero.
He was preceded in death by his father Leonard Edward Dunn; stepmother Helen Dunn; his beloved wife Shirley Dunn; his sister Edna Crouch; and his daughter Terry.
Bob is survived by his son Ricky; daughter Vickie; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will dearly miss him.
Though his presence will be deeply missed on earth, his family finds comfort in knowing he was welcomed home to heaven with open arms.
Visitation will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, US, on May 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Grove Hill Funeral Home from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, US, on May 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
