

Dr. Robert George, Jr. was born on May 25, 1952 to Mary Gay and Ralph George. He grew up in Lake Highlands and graduated from Lake Highlands High School. Bob attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and went on to study at Baylor College of Dentistry, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He earned his Master of Science in Dentistry by completing a Residency in Orthodontics at St. Louis University, and practiced orthodontics for over thirty years in Garland.
Bob was active in Boy Scouts since childhood. He was proud that he and his four sons are all Eagle Scouts in BSA Troop 890 in Dallas. He was an active member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed participating in mission and outreach programs. Bob’s life centered around his family, particularly his wife and four sons. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda, and his sons: Jonathan George and daughter-in-law, Emily and their two children, Jake and Cate; Michael George and fiancé, Molly; Mitchell George and daughter-in-law, Caitlin; Christopher George, and girlfriend, Emilie. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Gay George; sister, Katie Smith and husband, Greg; sister Betty Taylor and husband JL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ralph George.
Bob’s warm heart and his selfless compassion endeared him to everyone he met. He was a strong and humble man, who served his family, his friends, his church, his community, and his Lord. He will be dearly missed.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Jim Berry, Dr. James Boyd, Mr. Chris Murdock, Mr. Craig Robinson, Mr. Don Smith, Mr. Kurt Stadelmann, and Dr. Dan Stewart.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 4, from 6-8pm at Sparkman-Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetary, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225. Services will be held Thursday, June 5 at 11am at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas 75205.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Philmont Scout Ranch 17 Deer Run Road, Cimarron, NM 87714; or Highland Park United Methodist Church, attn: Missions & Outreach Ministry, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75205.
