Greetings. I am saddened to find that a once in a lifetime friend of mine has passed. We were close friends in 1973 in Dallas. I created a few pieces of art for him, one being a reproduction of the Savoy Brown album "Looking In". I wonder today where that art has gotten to. I have many fond memories of Bob and our days at Snooty Fox apartments. He taught me so much about what was cool. I'd love to someday connect with a survivor and simply chat. I believe this to be the Bob Philpot I met and grew to adopt as a brother in Dallas 1973 at the Snooty Fox Apts. His first wife was Charlene but I'm aware they parted ways. He was my best man at my first wedding in Grand Junction, CO and I have always treasured his friendship. I have often wondered about him and his adventures, hearing and knowing about his adventures while in the Navy and then becoming compadres. I will never forget the many evenings spent listening to music , drinking a "cold beer" with you and Bob. Albums! No digital for Bob! He had every album worth listening to. What do you want to hear? Thats the way I will remember him.Smiling and grooving to the music.

Dear Elaine,
I will never forget the time spent getting to know you and Bob on one of the Carrier trips to Australia/New Zealand.  You were both such a delight to be around and had such an inspiring marriage!  My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

i'll never forget when adriano came home from a drc run, so excited to have met "bob".  bob truly made an impact on both adriano and i...and so many others.  elaine, you have been and will stay in our hearts, our prayers and warmest thoughts...and although these days are sad and hard, without a doubt i know bob is running laps above us, at peace and as happy as can be.

I am not good with this kind of pain. All I can do is tell you how much he meant to me.  Even though I have been away for a long time I still have him burned into my brain. Smiling and laughing as Ryan and Chelsea and I would play.  That meant a lot to a girl with no stability, his memory will always help me to this day. I love you all. Sleep tight.

We really are so sorry to hear about your loss, your whole family has a special place in our hearts and in our life in the past, We know you are strong and this will be very hard on everyone. I've only known Bob for a few years, but in the time he has had an impact on me.  Bob was always a joy to be around, whether we were running and just standing around talking.  I will greatly miss his company.

I met Bob once at a DRC meeting. Although I never personally knew him outside of this one encounter, I can attest to the legacy he has left behind. It is my sincere honor to have shared such a brief moment in time with someone as respected, admired, and loved so much for all he had given of himself to so many other people. To his family and friends, please accept my sincerest condolances.

Running with Bob was always a pleasure. He brought smiles and lots of good miles running with others, and will be remembered by many. The world has lost a good man.

Bob, you were one of the finest men and truest friends I've ever known. Rest In Peace, my Brother.
