

Born February 2, 1941 in Gary, Indiana and passed away November 21, 2012 in Dallas, Texas. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Chapel of Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. He will be laid to rest in Morgan Town, Indiana in the Spring of 2013. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria, parents and sister, Janet Couture from Oregon. He is survived and loved so greatly by his daughter and son-in –law, Shelly and Mike Clem; grandsons, Joshua Akers and Cooper Clem; sister, Catherine Spiller and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert attended Bryan Adams High School and UT Arlington. He served proudly in the US Army as a helicopter mechanic at Ft. Benning, Georgia. during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Robert was accomplished at many things and always had a thirst for knowledge. He worked as a crop duster, and also at Texas Power & Light, and Xerox. Robert was an expert machinist and draftsman when he started with FABTECH. He was CEO of FABTECH as the company helped develop parts for the aerospace industry and the Super Collider. His numerous adventures included: photography, building stained art work, a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol at White Rock Airport, and he also raced cars with his family through the many organizations around Texas including the Mountain Creek Rallye Club, GVRA, SCCA and the Dallas Sports Car Club.
