

Robert Lee Yeager, III was born to Dr. Robert L. Yeager and Litane Brooks Yeager on August 10, 1943, and passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 82 years old.
He attended the Hill School and Tulane University, where he received his law degree in 1969. He was a proud member of SAE. Following his graduation, Bob practiced law with the SEC in Fort Worth and later moved to Dallas where he practiced with several law firms specializing in civil trial and business litigation until his retirement in 2013. He also served as an arbitrator with FINRA Dispute Resolution.
Bob was an athlete. He enjoyed running, golf, hunting, tennis, and baseball. He particularly enjoyed all of his time and travel with his best friend of over 60 years, Robert Lindholm.
While in college, he married the love of his life, Eleanor Stuart Clay; they were married for 61 years. Bob and Eleanor have 4 children: daughters, Brooke Zasa and husband, Joe of Dallas, Lee Cain and husband, John of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Eleanor (Windy) Rancilio and husband, Dave of Los Angeles, Ca, and son, Rob Yeager, IV and wife, Stephanie of Dallas, with 10 wonderful grandchildren, Hunter, JD, and Savannah Zasa, Mary Catherine, Walter, Eleanor and Stuart Cain, Elliotte and Jake Rancilio, and Sarah Blynn Yeager.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Robert Yeager and Litane Brooks Yeager, and his stepmother Winifred Doscher Yeager. He is also survived by his brothers, Brooks, John, and Fabian Yeager and their families.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the many professionals who cared for Bob, including MD Anderson, Baylor Scott and White, and T. Boone Pickens Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to MD Anderson, or the charity of your choice. The family will receive family and friends during a service beginning at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 9, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with a reception to follow.
