Ron was a friend to all, a benevolent soul, always of good humor and a ready wit. He was a treasured family member, a devoted son, a loving friend, a dedicated coworker, a generous giver of his time and talents, a trusted mentor to many, a master storyteller, an irreplaceable member of the Scarborough Faire family, and a Captain Cum Laude. Ron was born in Wethersfield Connecticut, the only child of Louise and
Zygmunt Socha. Ron moved with his family to Texas in 1987 where he attended North Texas State University and studied Art. In Texas he joined his mothers large, loud, and loving Italian family where good food and conversation were a mainstay. Ron was a proud 23 year member of the American Airlines family, and his coworkers were much loved and like family to him. Ron was an accomplished chef, a clandestine designer and tailor, a wonderful artist, a connoisseur of all things Lynyrd Skynyrd, and a vast collector of Pirate regalia and Star Trek memorabilia. More than anything, Ron loved to have a good time. His laugh was infectious, he never met a stranger, and good food and drink with friends was his greatest joy.
He will be missed, but he will forever remain The Captain Of Our Hearts.
Family and friends are invited to Celebrate Ron’s life on April 20th at the New Artisan Tasting Room, 8202 Chancellor Row, Dallas, TX. 75247 5:30 - 7:30.
