

Ronald was born on August 24, 1952, in Lorraine, Ohio, to Theodore K. Velleff and Roseann Cerasa. He is survived by his siblings Theo “Mickey” Velleff, Randal “Randy” Velleff, Ricky Dean Velleff, and Theodore “Teddy” K. Velleff Jr.; his brothers-in-law Bob Hohman and his wife Yoli Hohman, and Richard Hohman and his wife Tanya Hohman; his nephew, Randy White; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his half-brother, Paul Browning, and brother-in-law Jerry Hohman.
Janice Hohman Velleff, his high school sweetheart from Kimball High School in Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas, was the love of his life. Together for 57 years and married for 54, they were each other’s best friend, confidant, and greatest companion through every chapter of life. They shared a lifetime of adventures, celebrated milestones, and cherished every moment together.
Ronald completed his senior year of high school at Crozier Tech night school and received his diploma from Kimball High School. He then attended Mountain View College of Dallas, where he earned an associate’s degree in Physical Education, and continued his education at the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating in 1977 with a degree in Physical Education and a minor in History. He was a dedicated professional, serving as a foreman at ACT, a sheet metal company, where he was respected for his hard work, leadership, and integrity.
Ronald was a devoted father to his daughters Angela Velleff Campise and Tracy Velleff Zemanek, and a loving grandfather to Kaila Cooper, Kyra Cooper, and Zoie Zemanek. He is also survived by his sons-in-law, Chad Campise and Lawrence Zemanek.
Ronald and Janice welcomed their first child in 1972 and lived in Oak Cliff, where they later welcomed their second child in 1976, completing their family. In 1977, they moved to Carrollton, Texas, where they established a loving home and continued to build a life together.
Known for his vibrant personality and unforgettable sense of humor, Ronald could light up any room. He was passionate about sports and recreation, spending countless hours on the golf course, softball field, and bowling alley. He also had a deep love for horse racing and dreamed of becoming a handicapper. One of his proudest accomplishments was winning a world championship in softball, earning a championship ring that symbolized his excellence, something he loved to share and celebrate with others.
A visitation service for Ronald will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 S R L Thornton Frwy, Dallas, Texas 75232. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a committal service from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
