

Rose Mary (Rosa Maria Benedik) Dingler, 78, of Dallas, Texas passed away Friday, January 2, 2015. Rose Mary was born in Neustadt, Upper Silesia/Germany, March 22, 1936. She grew up in war torn Germany and as a young child experienced many tribulations like others who lived in Germany during WWII. After the war, she completed primary and secondary school in Munich, West Germany. She came the United States and married in 1960. Rose Mary is known by her family and friends as being interesting, and funny, and being very good with words. She worked at Union Bankers Insurance Company as a mid-manager for 30 years. Her friends at Union Bankers were part of her American Family. She had a wide range of interests. For many years Rose Mary was active in the Dallas Chapter of the International Soroptimist; particularly the camp for disabled children. She participated in a water aerobics group for many years and sang in a German Choir. A very caring person, she was interested in people and animals. She enjoyed visiting with friends and having lengthy conversations with her sisters in Germany. Rose Mary is preceded in death by her parents August and Caecilia Benedik and her niece, Andrea Sandbote Rose Mary is survived by her sisters in Germany, Ursula Moser, Barbara Genter, and Anneliese Sandbote, her cousin Herbert Kaufmann, Sweden. She is also survived by her friend and companion, Joe Maurer, Dallas. A service honoring her life will be held at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 7521 on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:30 AM.
