It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Olivia Martinez, a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose light shone brightly in the lives of all who knew her. She was born in Norfolk, VA on a naval ship (USS Saipan LHA-2) and raised in Dallas, TX.
Olivia graduated in 1998 from El Centro Middle College High School. She continued her education at Mountain View College in pursuit of a Criminal Justice degree, as well as attending Cedar Valley Law Enforcement Academy. She was a shining example of how to think of others, a value that was central to her character. Her school years were marked by her kindness, empathy, and capacity to bring joy to those around her.
She started her career in finance and gradually transitioned into the legal field, working as a negotiator and case manager at several law firms. Most recently, she thrived at Godsey Martin, P.C. where she established great friendships and satisfaction in her workplace. For spirituality, guidance, and tranquility she attended Shoreline City Church where she found a sense of belonging.
Olivia embraced every moment with a spirit of adventure and a heart full of love. She lived for her children and grandchildren, showering them with endless love and protection. Always going above and beyond, she created lasting memories and unforgettable experiences for them. Olivia was always the life of the party and brought laughter wherever she went. Music and traveling was her passion. One of her shining moments was Lionel Ritche proposing to her with a ring pop in Las Vegas, She also found peace in fishing with her family; brunch with her sister circle; always down for random road trips, sibling gatherings, adventures with Grandma, and weekends with her sister. Olivia looked forward to the holidays with such excitement that, if it was up to her Christmas would last all year long. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and shared that with those around her.
Olivia is preceded in death by mother, Rose Mary and survived by her children Raquel, Isaac, and Amaya; grandchildren, Ava, Exodus, and Maurizio; grandmother, Elida; her father David and step-mother Inez; siblings, Mr. and Mrs. Enrique & Esperanza, Mr. and Mrs. David & Erika, Vanessa and Erica; and her bonus sisters, Paula, Priscilla, and Pamela. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and best friends who loved her dearly.
Olivia's love knew no bounds, and she will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We will carry her spirit with us always and remember her for the incredible woman she was. Our memories, adventures, and inside jokes will hold a special place in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Olivia. You will be forever missed and never forgotten. We love you more than words can say.
