

Mrs. Odele, Rose Ebikabo-ere (Nee Bonoh) was born on the 2nd of June, 1955, into the respected families of late Pa B. T. Bonoh of Orubiri (II) Quarter, Bomadi, and late Ale-ere Amabebe of Otoloware Quarter, Bomadi, in Delta State, Nigeria. She grew up with strong cultural values, discipline, and a deep sense of responsibility that guided her throughout her life.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND.
Mama began her early education at L.A. Bomadi from 1961 to 1964. She later continued at RTC Primary School, Anwan Asaba, from 1965 to 1966. She then proceeded to Essi College where she studied from 1968 to 1972.
Her passion for healthcare led her to the School of Hygiene, Benin City, where she studied from 1974 to 1978. She later attended the School of Nursing, Warri, from 1983 to 1985. In her quest for further professional development, she also attended the School of Health Technology from 1999 to 2001.

Through dedication and commitment, she obtained the following qualifications:
Primary School Leaving Certificate – 1967
West African School Certificate (WASC) – 1972
Registered Community Midwife – 1978
Community Health Officer – 2001
Working Experience
Mama dedicated most of her life to serving humanity through healthcare. Her career was marked by diligence, compassion, and professional excellence.
Her work experience includes:
Staff Community Midwife, Health Centre Bomadi (1978–1983)
Nursing Sister, Health Centre Patani (1985–1988)
Senior Nursing Sister, Health Centre Warri (1st January 1990 – 31st December 1992)
Principal Nursing Sister (1st January 1993 – 31st December 1995)
Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (1st January 1996 – 31st December 1998)
Chief Nursing Officer (1999 – 2002)
Assistant Director of Nursing Services (2003 – 2005)
Ekpan Health Centre, Uvwie Local Government Area (2006 – 2009)
During her years of active service, Mama also owned and managed a chemist shop in Warri, where she helped provide medicines and basic healthcare support to members of the community.
After her retirement, her experience and dedication to healthcare were still highly valued. She was appointed Senior Matron at Cottage Hospital, Aleibiri Town in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, where she served from 4th January 2011 to 4th January 2013.
Due to her outstanding dedication and commitment to duty, her appointment was renewed by the Bayelsa State Hospital Management Board, a testament to her professionalism and passion for service.
MARITAL LIFE
Mrs. Odele, Rose Ebikabo-ere was married to the late Barrister Jerry Odele of Ebikorogha Town in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State. Their union was blessed with children, and she was a loving, caring, and supportive mother.
Until her passing, Mama was survived by five children, eleven grandchildren, siblings, and many other relatives too numerous to mention.
CHRISTIAN LIFE.
Mama was a dedicated and devoted Christian who worshipped at Jubilee Christian Church, Ekpan, Warri, Delta State. Because of her diligence and commitment to the work of God, she was ordained as a Deacon in the church. She served faithfully and passionately until her death.
She strongly believed in biblical teachings.
SOCIAL LIFE
Mama loved sports, swimming, travelling, and reading. These activities brought her joy and helped her connect with people from different walks of life.
HER FINAL DAYS.
Later in life, Mama relocated to the United States of America to stay with her daughter, Mrs. Ebise Alicia Epps. While there, she fell ill and was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, after about one week in the hospital, she passed on.
Even on her sick bed, Mama remained strong in faith. She continued praying for her children, siblings, and loved ones, while also encouraging everyone around her to love one another. Her words and prayers during those final moments reflected the deep love, faith, and compassion that defined her life.
PERSONALITY AND LEGACY.
Mama was a peace-loving and compassionate woman who cared deeply for her children, family, friends, and loved ones. She was known for her generosity, strength, and sense of responsibility. She often played the role of both a mother and a father in her immediate and extended families, always offering support, guidance, and encouragement.
Her life was a shining example of service, faith, sacrifice, and unconditional love. The impact she made in the lives of her family, community, and the many people she served in the health sector will forever be remembered.
