Don attended Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On June 8, 1953, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma as a Pharmacist, and ROTC. He was a proud brother of the Alpha Signa Phi fraternity house.
After graduation he then reported for duty to the U.S. Army Medical Corp. as a 1st Lieutenant. In 2001 he received a Doctor of Pharmacy from State of Oklahoma on November 1, 2001. He opened a Pharmacy, Henry’s Prescription Pharmacy in Pleasant Grove, Texas. He kept the Pharmacy until his 50th birthday and sold the store. After boredom set in, he returned to work part time.
Don is survived by his loving wife Kathy, and his children Donald (Rod), Katherine Richmond, and Phillip. Grandchildren Kelsey Willingham and Morgan Ashcroft, and great-grandchildren Graham, Leo, and Betsy.
A funeral service for Roy will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218.
