

Services for Ruth M Seif, 82, of Wylie TX are scheduled for 10 am Friday, September 11, 2020 at Laurel Land Chapel in Dallas. Burial will be at DFW National Cemetery. Ruth passed away Monday, August 31 at her home in Wylie TX after suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease for 8 years. She was born on August 14, 1938 in Idabel, OK to the late BJ and Edna Maye Hooker. Ruth was a proud sister to siblings Billy Clyde & Elizabeth. She graduated Valedictorian from South Oak Cliff High School in 1956 and went on to work as an Executive Secretary for General Electric. Ruth was a wonderful, devoted wife and loving, compassionate mom to her daughter Cheryl & son David. Later in life, she spent 25 years working in Admitting for Charlton Methodist Hospital. She lived in the Dallas area for over 75 years and was not only a member of Trinity Temple Baptist Church/Ovilla Heights Baptist Church but also the church pianist and Sunday School teacher for the 2/3 year-old children for over 20 years. Ruth gave her life to Jesus at a young age and renewed her commitment to Christ in 2014. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Harry Seif; daughter, Cheryl Bevington & husband Craig and son, David Seif; three grandchildren, Forrest Bevington & wife Madisyn of Albany OR, Laurel Bevington of Eagle CO and Eden Bevington of Wylie TX; 1 great grandson, Lincoln (due in 4 weeks); and her sister & best friend Elizabeth Trull. She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy C. Hooker; her mother, Edna Maye Hooker; her brother-in-law, Rex Trull; and her dad, BJ Hooker. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday, September 10th at Laurel Land Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held the following day at 10 AM at the Laurel Land Chapel.
