She will be sorely missed and not forgotten. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia (Brian) Mason and Katherine (Jason) Frazer, her sisters Linda (Thomas) Ness and Sue (Robert) Melton and her brother Samuel McCallum and many nieces and nephews. Sally Ann was born in College Station to William Olin McCallum and Vivian Estelle Stark on July 7, 1946. She was a graduate of Texas Women’s University. Sally Ann worked in the medical and insurance fields as an RN in many capacities for forty plus years.
She retired in 2015 and dedicated her remaining time to crafting, painting, crocheting, researching her family’s genealogy and collecting just about anything (we really mean any and everything). If one was good, twenty-five was way, way better. She had a passion for Barbies, costume jewelry, colorful clothing, tacky shoes, fake flowers, empty boxes, Christmas decor, eBay, Dresden figurines, things that sparkle, Joann’s Fabrics, creating hilarious crochet stuffed animals, the Texas Rangers and most recently Amazon. She won back to back first place blue ribbons for her designs in needle work at the Texas State Fair Crafts Show 2018 and 2019.
She left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her daughters who have no idea what to do with it all. If you need anything give us a call. Mom probably had it.
Sally Ann was a character. She was terrific mother. Her family and friends loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, quick wit, charm, grace and undying love and caring for them. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles N Duncan III (Chili) and her father and mother, William and Vivian McCallum.
