It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel Ray Paredes, who departed this life on November 4, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on February 27th, 1980, Samuel was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, godfather, and friend whose vibrant spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Samuel was the cherished son of Edna Jean Paredes and Armando Paredes, and a devoted brother to Stephen Ray Paredes and Sean Ray Paredes. He was a proud and loving father to Alonso Miguel Venegas, Andrew Ricardo Paredes, Adrianna Cynthia Paredes, and Angela Edna Paredes. His role as uncle to Noah Ray Paredes, Joseph Ray Paredes, and Roman Ray Paredes, and godfather to Ricardo Covarrubias III and Raquel Covarrubias, brought him immense joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Guadalupe Fermin Gonzales, Gloria Arevalo, Agustina and Nicholas Paredes, along with several uncles whose memories he held close to his heart.
Samuel dedicated his professional life to Dallas ISD, where his colleagues admired his commitment and the warmth he brought to the workplace. Samuel consistently worked with the mission of “Saving DISD”. A passionate Dallas Cowboys fan, Samuel’s enthusiasm was matched only by his infectious laugh, radiant smile, and a personality taller than his actual height.
Family meant everything to Samuel. He was deeply loved by his many cousins and friends, whom he always considered part of his extended family. His ability to connect with others and make them feel seen and valued was one of his greatest gifts.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Samuel’s life will be held at González Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, November 14, 2025. Viewing will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Samuel Ray Paredes will be remembered for his heart, his humor, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he created.
