Saul Robert Riseman was born January 7, 1922 to Samuel and Sadie Riseman in Kansas City, Missouri and passed away June 19, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. After graduating high school in Kansas City, Saul entered the U.S. Army in World War II. He served his country with valor and distinction, earning many awards including a Purple Heart, Soldier’s Medal and Good Conduct Medal. After the war, he married the love of his life, Rose Klein. In 1977, after 30 years in the grocery industry, he retired to Dallas to be with his family. In Dallas, his family became long-time members of Congregation Shearith Israel and Saul was able to pursue a love of golf. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a son. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose Riseman; sons, Ron Riseman and wife, Adrienne, and Bill Riseman and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Steve, Ken, Laurie, Julie, Ryan and Rachel; and sister, Rosalie Goldstein. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Robert Koster and all the staff at Baylor for their care and compassion through the years. Saul will always be remembered and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Rabbi William Gershon officiating.
