

Born in East Orange, New Jersey, to Grace Tillinghast Patton and William Henry Patton.
Most knew him as either Scott or Pat, his childhood nickname.
Survived by his sons Schuyler T. Patton, Jr. (Pam), Edward Patton (Dr. Dawn True), David Patton; grandchildren Nathan ,24, Lauren, 21 and Blake, 18; sister Sue Kenny of Florida and her family, several nephews and nieces. He is also survived by nephews from his brother, William H. Patton, who predeceased him in 1997.
Scott graduated Mamaroneck High School (1949), Mamaroneck, NY, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force from (1951-1955).
After leaving the Air Force, Scott worked at Dictaphone, where he met and married Arlene Mary Zackrison in Easton, Connecticut, (1956). After marriage, Scott and Arlene moved to Washington D.C. where he attended and graduated from American University in Washington, D.C, (1959) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.
Scott worked for RCA and General Electric in various roles and locations before settling in Dallas and spending the majority of his career performing reliability studies on Industrial Power Systems as a Licensed Professional Engineer. He retired from GE in 1995.
Along the way, Scott and Arlene raised three sons. Arlene passed in 1992.
After the passing of his first wife, Scott met and married Linda Poteet Golden of South Padre Island in the Hill Country, outside Austin, TX, (2011). Linda passed in 2020. Together they renovated a house in Bayview, TX, that had a small citrus grove on the property. At Bayview, Scott spent a significant amount of time enjoying his small citrus grove and artwork consisting of pen and ink and watercolors.
Scott was an avid do-it-yourselfer. He also enjoyed art very much. He didn’t call himself an artist, he called himself an illustrator. But everybody that saw his work or received his annual Christmas card would call him an artist. He was a member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society.
