Died July 4, 2014 at Baylor Medical Center in Plano Texas. Sharon was born in Ft Collins Colorado, the youngest if three children born to L. John and Phyllis (Chadwick) Cooper. Sharon was married to Richard Orourke, and later to Earl Westerfield. She had one daughter, Jacqueline Orourke-Smith and one grandson, Spencer Smith of Denver Colorado.
Sharon attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and was awarded a B.S. degree with honors in speech pathology from the University of NM, Albuquerque. After working for insurance companies in Albuquerque and Denver, she was hired by RLI in Peoria, IL.
When RLI insurance opened its Dallas office, Sharon was sent to head the underwriting of non-standard lines and was made an assistant vice president. Her labors and those of her team made the Dallas office a mainstay of the whole company.
Sharon loved her family, volunteered her time helping others, was an avid reader and admirer of art, gardener, and “mother” to rescued Scottish terriers. Although she was in chronic pain for the last several years, she had a lively sense of humor, loved being with people, and always wanted the best for others.
She is survived by one brother, Father James Cooper of Lincoln, NE, daughter Jacqueline O’Rourke-Smith and grandson Spencer Smith both of Denver, sister-in-law Linda Cooper of Burke, VA (window of Sharon's brother John Cooper), former husbands Richard O’Rourke of Albuquerque and Earl Westerfield of Denver, two uncles, one aunt, cousins and two nephews and a niece and their children, and her daughter’s partner Christopher Moore.
