Sheri was an extraordinary woman who lived life head on with her own unique style and passion. She treasured her friends and family and supported everyone unconditionally.
Sheri was born in Battle Creek, Michigan in April 1956 and grew up in Muscatine and Davenport, Iowa and moved to Dallas where she married her husband Steve. She was driven to nurture and support her daughter Charlotte. She was an incredible and loving mother and wife. Sheri was an avid reader and loved crafts and puzzles.
She retired as an Administrative Assistant and volunteered with Skating Clubs, AIDS Services of Dallas, and many groups at The Episcopal Church Of The Transfiguration including her service as a Stephen Minister.
Sheri dealt with a severe congenital heart defect her entire life but never let that define who she was and instead used her experiences to help others in their life journeys. The family wishes to thank her medical team, Dr. Allan Shulkin, Dr. Lee Ann Pearse and Dr. Ronald Kerr for their devoted care for many years through very difficult situations.
Sheri is survived by her husband Steve and daughter Charlotte and her brother Gary Hoxie and his wife Luanne and brother Orton Hoxie, Jr. and his wife Loretta, her parents Orton and Betty Hoxie, her nephew Rick Hoxie and wife Amanda and children Zoey and Weston, her niece Amy Hoxie and partner Melissa and children Trenton and Logan, her uncle Lloyd Hoxie and her aunts: Carol Vernia, Virginia Vernia, and Maxine Campbell along with many cousins.
Sheri was proceeded in death by her eldest brother Rick Hoxie, niece Elizabeth Hoxie and nephews Bradley, Jeff and Andrew Hoxie.
The family requests donations be made to Caring Voice Coalition (www.caringvoice.org) and AIDS Services Of Dallas (www.aidsdallas.org) in lieu of flowers.
The family has been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support and asks that our friends and family leave notes on their memories of Sheri in the online condolence page.
