Sherry was the girl I dreamed of in high school and for years after. We kept up with each other throughout our lives. Everyone else went their own way. That she maintained that relationship speaks volumes about Sherry’s loving heart. She was also a National Merit Scholar in high school. She did not have to apply to college. Somehow Steven’s, a top shelf college for women in Missouri tracked her down and appeared on her front porch with a full scholarship in hand. After Steven’s she enrolled at U. of Texas in Austin. Later Sherry did graduate research with rhesus monkeys at Florida State University researching their cognitive abilities. She sincerely loved animals, particularly her monkeys. She loved football and was a big Longhorn and Seminole fan. Sherry had a kindness about her I discovered in only one other human being, a person both of us loved, my mother.  Having both those women in my life rendered me without excuse for my mistakes.  Sherry is a beautiful very very special human being. If she is not with Jesus in Heaven then there is no Heaven,. (But of course there is.)
