Shirley Ann (Post) Lynch Duncanville, TX Shirley Ann (Post) Lynch, 78, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2017. She was at home surrounded by her children. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Dr. Herbert L. Pedersen officiating. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice. She was born to W.B. and Rosalie Post on July 26, 1938, in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, living in the same house from birth until her marriage to Charles Lynch in 1956. She attended John F. Peeler Elementary School, Boude Storey Jr. High School and graduated from W. H. Adamson High School in 1956. While in Jr. High she learned to sew and made many of her own clothes. Later she also made many clothes for her three daughters. During her teen years she played basketball and softball on church leagues; and, spent many years taking piano lessons. After graduating from high school she began her career in the insurance business and continued in that profession until her retirement from Ben Spurgeon Insurance Agency in January, 2017. She was a member of the The Oaks Baptist Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Oak Cliff) her entire life. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, square dancing and playing bridge with her dear friends. She was always involved in her children’s lives serving in various roles such as Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout den mother, room mother, team mother, and camp leader and the list goes on and on. On every birthday, anniversary, graduation and holiday we always knew there would be a card from Mom/Mema. We will miss those cards and will always cherish these sweet memories. We would like to thank Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington and especially Envoy Hospice for the care they gave mom in her final weeks. We are forever grateful for the compassion they showed, not only to our mother, but also to us. We would also like to thank her co-workers at Ben Spurgeon for all the help they were to Mom during the past 3 years. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren unconditionally and prayed for us every day. This was evident with her unselfish last prayer request that “her children have peace”. And, because of her, we do. She was the rock of our family and her strength will forever be with us. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.B. and Rosalie Post and her brother Bill Post. She is survived by her four children and their families: Donna (Tony) Biasatti, Kay (Kenneth) Cox, Vickie Lynch, Craig (Phil) Lynch; her grandchildren Stephn, Joey (Courtney) and Matthew (Elena) Biasatti, Kristina and Kandice Cox and Kyle Lynch (Stephanie Powers); great grandchildren Isabella, Adriana and Blake Biasatti, Dylan, Ryan and Brianna Biasatti and Alexis Lynch. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (John) Glantz and family, Charles Lynch (father of her children), Greg Rasco and many nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
