WALD,SOL Born March 19,1920, in Moscow, Russia, to Aron Wald and Lonia (Elizabeth) Blasser Wald. Sol passed away October 23, 2019, in Dallas, TX. He was a graduate of Forest Avenue High School in Dallas. Sol married Shirlye Maurine Sherrard at the Melrose Hotel in Dallas on October 7,1945. He was the proprietor of Aladdin Rental Service and Wald’s Police Supply, Co., Inc. until his retirement. He was an active life member of Jewish War Veterans. Sol was predeceased by Shirlye on January 7, 2008. Sol is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Rabbi Edward M. and Janice Wald Friedman of Aurora, IL, and Charleston, SC; sons, S. David Wald of Carrollton, TX, Edwin Bennett Wald and partner Mark-Christopher Mitera of Forest Park, IL; grandson, Aaron Michael Levy of Charleston, SC; niece and nephews, Barry and Sharon Goldstein Levy and Lenny Goldstein of Miami, FL. Rabbi Edward M. Friedman, son-in-law, formerly of Congregation Shearith Israel, will officiate at a private burial with family only attending. The family plans to invite friends and relatives to a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life in spring 2020 in honor of Sol’s 100th birthday.
