Mr. Stephen Renell Ross, Sr.

Stephen Renell Ross was born September 1, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the oldest child of Mrs. Rose Ross and the late Mr. Paul Brown. Stephen completed his early and secondary education in St. Louis, Missouri Public Schools, where he graduated from Beaumont High School in 1976. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. While in the Navy he traveled throughout the world for 4 years of duty and served 18 years in the reserves. While he was a reservist, he attended Mountain View College, where he studied Electronics. Upon leaving Mountain View College, Stephen graduated from Video Technical Institute of Electronics (VTI).

Stephen accepted Jesus Christ in his life at an early age and was a member of New Bethesda Christian Church, Saint Louis, Missouri. After moving to DeSoto, Texas, he united with Trinity Church, Cedar Hill, Texas. Stephen believed in the Lord and His favorite scripture was, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15 KJV)

After graduating from Video Production and Electronics, Stephen went on to pursue a career in telecommunications for 38 years. He worked with several companies in this field, receiving many MVP Awards. In1992, he started his own business, “Video Works.” Until his death, Stephen worked at CCG/Global TEL Communications, where he was an innovative leader. There he serviced many computers and telephones, and concurrently worked at FedEx. In conclusion, he always worked in a field of electronics and technology, which was a love of his.

On January 12, 1990, Stephen was united in holy matrimony to Miss Sharon Janet Reece. They reside in DeSoto, Texas To this blessed union one child was born, Norvell Lamont Ross. Stephen has three children: Antoinette, Stephen Jr. and Norvell. He loved his children and was very proud of their accomplishments. He considered providing for his family as the most single important job in his life. He loved taking his family on trips, especially cruises.

God in His infinite wisdom, felt it was time to call our beloved Stephen Renell Ross home on December 27, 2020 at 7:50 p.m., in the presence of his wife and family members. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Sharon Janet Ross, Desoto, Texas; daughter, Antoinette Richardson-Ward (Phillip), Lancaster, Texas; sons, Stephen Renell Ross, Jr., St. Louis, Missouri and Norvell LaMont Ross, Desoto, Texas; mother, Mrs. Rose Ross, St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Derek Brown (Daphany), St. Louis Missouri; four sisters, Paula Denise Brown, St. Louis, Missouri; Gail U. Ross, Atlanta, Georgia; Stacy Malone (John), Atlanta, Georgia; Daphany Sullivan (Ellis), Atlanta, Georgia; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 1 brother-in-law, 1 sister-in-law and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
