

KRISTOF, STEVEN JAMES, 71, born 21 June 1954 in Oakland, California. He was the third son of four children. Steve was preceded in death by his brother, David Allen Kristof; his mother, Barbara Jean Kristof; and his father, John James Kristof. He is survived by his brothers, Eric Andrew Kristof and Gary Michael Kristof, as well as many nieces, great-nieces, and a great-nephew. The son of a US Naval Officer, Steve attended grade school in: Arlington, Virginia; Key West, Florida; Monterey, California; Middletown, Rhode Island; Mayport, Florida; and Fairfax and Vienna, Virgina. After high school, Steve attended college at the University of Texas at Arlington before beginning his service in the United States Marine Corps from 1974 to 1978, reaching the rank of Corporal, and serving as an avionics technician. After serving in the military, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Texas in 1991. Steve worked as an electronics technician, as a package designer, as a marketer, and most recently in his own business as a window cleaner in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Steve's greatest happiness came from time he spent with his loved ones. He was a member of the Bent Tree Bible Fellowship in Carrollton, Texas. Steve died on 28 October 2025 in Lewisville, Texas from suicide. There will be no formal memorial service. His cremated remains will be placed with his parents in their tomb at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help defray Steve’s end-of-life costs.
