Stevie Edward Forrest was called home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2025, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, devotion, and faith. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lejon Forrest, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage, and their cherished family of four foster daughters: Zoey, Amyiah, Emma, and Arya. These girls were embraced into Stevie and Lejon’s home with open hearts, where love, stability, and guidance flourished.
Born on March 13, 1975, in Dallas, Texas, Stevie was the son of the late Lee Edward Harper and Pearlie Mae Forrest. From an early age, he was guided by his Christian faith, which became the foundation for his life and relationships. Stevie graduated from David W. Carter High School in 1993 and went on to attend Lakeland University in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. There, he thrived both academically and athletically, making lifelong friendships and creating unforgettable memories.
Stevie’s career journey began at Terminix before he joined the City of Dallas in 1999, where he dedicated over 20 years of service. His final role was with the Dallas Police Department, where his commitment to his colleagues and his community was evident in every aspect of his work.
Family was at the heart of Stevie’s life. He met his wife, Lejon, in 1995, and the two married in 1998, building a strong, loving partnership grounded in faith. Together, they traveled the world and became Godparents to two wonderful girls. In 2021, they were blessed to become the proud parents of four foster daughters, a role Stevie cherished deeply.
Stevie was a man of unwavering faith, a member of Eagles Nest Cathedral for 20 years under the leadership of Pastor W.V. Grant, and later a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church under Pastor Chad Flowers. His love for God and others was reflected in his acts of kindness, generosity, and service.
Stevie’s zest for life was evident in everything he did. He found joy in the simple pleasures, such as fishing, traveling, and watching football. He was deeply passionate about his family, especially his foster daughters Zoey, Amyiah, Emma, and Arya, and his goddaughters, Labrea Willis and Ciandra Lester. Stevie also treasured his role as a son, brother, and friend, always putting family first and showing love in every interaction.
Stevie is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. Joe and Etta Lee Forrest, his paternal grandparents, Mrs. Rosie Hendrix and Mr. Fossie Harper, and two siblings, Anita Harper and Douglas Harper. He leaves behind his wife, Lejon Forrest; his mother, Pearlie Mae Forrest; his two sisters, Lesley Forrest and Jackie Harper-Greer (John); his goddaughters, Labrea Willis and Ciandra Lester; his four daughters, Zoey, Amyiah, Emma, and Arya; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will continue to carry his legacy of love and faith.
Though Stevie’s presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and service, and his legacy will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have shared in his journey.
