Sue Annette Douglas

Sue grew up in Pleasant Grove, a suburb of Dallas. She graduated from W.W. Samuel High School in 1960. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1964, a Master of Education from the University of North Texas in August 1968, and a Doctor of Education from the University of North Texas in December 1981.

Sue retired from the Arlington School District after 42 years of service in January 2006.

Sue is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Douglas, Georgetown; nephew, Scott Douglas, and wife Jennifer and daughter Hope, Colleyville; niece, Amy Boyce, and her daughters, Emily Griffin and Macon Boyce of Georgetown. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Douglas.

A visitation will be held on February 7, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home, located at 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. The funeral service will be at the same location from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The committal service will take place at Grove Hill Memorial Park, also at 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm on the same day.

The Douglas Family would like thank the wonderful caregivers from Carver Heights Estates Senior Living and Cardinal Hospice who assisted in caring for Sue in her final days.
