
He was born September 4, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Jacob and Dorothy Schlossman. Ted spent most of his childhood in Atlanta, GA and received a degree in business from Emory University. He also lived in Jacksonville, FL, Virginia Beach, VA, and spent his last 30 years in the Dallas area.
Ted's passion was home building and multifamily mortgage lending, which provided him several successful careers as a builder, manufacturer and mortgage banker. Ted was very active in the National Association of Home Builders, the Texas Association of Home Builders and the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association for many decades. He garnered more awards than can be named here.
Ted was a sublime businessman and an even better husband, father, grandfather, and companion. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Schlossman, and his son Rick Schlossman. He is survived by his children, Cynthia (Randall) Silverberg of Jacksonville, FL, Judith (David Brinkley) Reed of Jacksonville, FL, Tina (Barry) Dixon-Smith of New York, NY, Alan (Mary) Schlossman of Stamford, CT, Scott Adams of New Orleans, LA, Laurie (Patrick) Carroll of Dallas TX and Daniel Adams. Ted is also survived by his longtime companion, Marilyn Levy. Lastly he is survived by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren all of whom he bragged about shamelessly.
Services will be held at 1p.m. Sunday January 27 at Temple Emanu-El, Lefkowitz Chapel in Dallas, TX with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to The Texas Builders Foundation in Ted's name at 313 E. 12th Street, Suite 210, Austin, TX 78701 (512- 476-6346).
