

Thomas L. Houston, born 02/16/1937 to Joe and Birdie Houston in Lodi, Texas. Thomas was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished member of the community, who passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2025, at the age of 87. A man of unwavering kindness and faith, Thomas was a faithful member of Beckley Heights Church of Christ where he served as Deacon and was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
Thomas will be remembered for his infectious smile, his dedication to his family, and his steadfast commitment to his faith. A pillar of strength and support, he was always ready to lend a helping hand and instilled in his children the values of hard work, compassion, and integrity. He found great joy in spending time outdoors, particularly gardening and fishing with family and friends—activities that brought him peace and strengthened the bonds with those he loved.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Burnette, and his children: Carolyn Peters (SJ), Sonia Smith (Percy), and Thomas L. Houston Jr. Sisters Lorene Randle of Jefferson, Tx and Ola Fay Gay of Houston, Tx. Our love for him will keep his memory alive in our hearts forever.
Preceded in death: Parents Joe Ole Houston and Birdie Lee Harper Houston. Brothers: Leroy Houston, William Houston, Melvin Houston. Sisters: Vernie Bryant and Pinkie Mae Wilson.
A celebration of Thomas’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Beckley Heights Church of Christ. His legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his loss.
