Thomas R. Hunter, born October 26, 1929 in Robert Lee Texas, joins his parents, daughter, brother, sisters, and brother-in-laws in a better place. A Korean War veteran, a graduate from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Law, Tom was respected by his colleagues and friends. His legal career spanned over 50 years from 1962, as Assistant Attorney General of Texas, to 1964 City Attorney of Waco, and finally to Senior Corporate Counsel for Dresser Industries. A life devoted to fighting for equal rights for all, Tom loved his family, fishing, reading, drinking a good beer and conversing with the Wednesday Circle of friends, and walking his dog. His wife, Patricia, daughter, Sandra, dog Bailey, and brother Jim will miss Tom's spontaneous songs, stories and most of all humor. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday March 27, 2012 at Grove Hill Funeral Home. There will be a simple Graveside Service at Grove Hill Memorial Park on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 3 P.M. A wake celebrating his life will be held later this summer.
