He was 92 years old, born December 3, 1933, and grew up in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Tommy attended the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and graduated with a BBA in Finance.
It was at Texas where he met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Pettway. Tommy and Patricia married on December 28, 1956. They were married for 66 years, until her passing in 2022.
He served his country as an Officer in the Reserve Armed Forces of the United States, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant.
After moving to Dallas, Tommy had successful careers in banking and in the oil and gas industry.
Throughout his adult life, Tommy personified a man whose priorities were his Lord Jesus Christ, his family and friends. He loved to play the piano. His piano music filled the family home daily. He played piano for Mrs. Criswell’s Bible study class at the First Baptist Church of Dallas and at the Good Shepherd class at Park Cities Presbyterian Church.
He fell in love with aviation from an early age and became a licensed pilot, flying his family on many memorable vacations.
Tommy was a member of Brook Hollow Golf Club where he was an avid golfer and hosted family and friends for over 50 years. He was also an active member of Christian Concern and the Salesmanship Club of Dallas.
Tommy and Patricia filled their home with family, friends, music, great food, laughter and love. They hosted dinners with family and their “supper club” of close friends, for many years.
He had an endearing sense of humor, tempered only by his very kind and gentle spirit.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, William Wilkins Jones Jr. and Laura Foster Wingo Jones, and his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Pettway Jones.
