Thomas "Tom" Francis O'Leary

Thomas Francis O’Leary passed away late on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Tom was a wonderful man full of energy and life. Those who knew Tom were blessed with a generous, thoughtful and fun-loving friend.

He was born in Dallas, Texas, on April 9, 1959, to Frank and Dorothy O’Leary, raised in the St. Pius X area, attended Bishop Lynch High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. After graduating college, Tom opened O’Leary’s Bar & Grill ,which he ran for seven years. Once he sold his business, he went into the medical device sales field in which he was highly successful and respected, working for Medtronic for the last 18 years. Tom was a member of the White Rock Yacht Club and a former president of his Lakewood area neighborhood association.

Tom is survived by his wife Monica, sister Dorothy (Bob Kasmire), sister Peggy O’Leary, brother Jack O’Leary (Greg Smith), nephew Spencer Jones and niece Adrienne Kleckner. Also, Tom was loved by his closest cousins Anne Mitchell, John Mitchell (Deb) and Bill Mitchell, and the O’Brien and Monnat families. There are numerous friends and Medtronic coworkers whom Tom also considered part of his “immediate” family as well.

Visitation services will be on Friday, October 29, from 6:00-7:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway in Dallas. The funeral Mass will be at 11:00am, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas.
