

Thomas “Tom” William Zachary born July 17, 1937 in Dow, Oklahoma, left this earthly home from Mesquite, TX on April 27, 2020. He was raised in McAlester, Oklahoma by his parents Thomas Zachary and Edith Zachary along with his grandparents Samuel Arnold and Lily Davidson. Tom attended and graduated from McAlester High School, he was the Valedictorian of his 1955 class. Following high school he graduated from Eastern State Jr. College in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Tom joined the Navy Reserves and was a proud service member from 1954-1962. Once he left the service he worked at Collins Radio as Draftsman. He then began a career with Farmers Insurance as an agent, eventually moving over to Geico insurance, where he retired. Tom was a Christian man and faithful member of White Rock Baptist Church as a Deacon and a Royal Ambassador. He enjoyed golf, watching sports, game shows, gambling, and scratch offs, he also had a strong love of History, camping and anything outdoors. Tom was an avid bowler in his younger years holding the title of Individual men's champion at Jupiter Bowling Lanes for several years. He carried a higher than normal average score, which allowed him to be sponsored at several national games and tournaments . The highlight of his bowling career was playing at the National Amateur Bowling Tournament in Buffalo, New York. Tom's true joy came from road trips with the grandkids; he would sing silly songs to all of them and enjoyed making them homemade ice cream. Tom was a loving father, husband, and grandpa he supported his family in all they did and will be missed dearly.
Tom is preceded in death by; his beloved wife, Jerry Ann Zachary; parents, Thomas Zachary and Edith Lindsey; Siblings, Donnie Zachary and Mike Lindsey.
He is survived by; his wonderful children, Tim Zachary, Gary Zachary and wife Anita, Cindy Holland and husband Gerry, David Zachary and wife Melinda; grandchildren, Johnny Gage, Tabatha Zachary, David Zachary, Lawson Gage, Spencer Zachary, Amber Zachary, Elizabeth Hall, Zachary Hunter Holland, Grace Zachary, Faith Zachary; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry Zachary, Rodger Zachary, Brenda Camp, Sheryl Marcangeli, Mitch Lindsey, and Donna Cowen. Along with numerous extended family members.
