Thorne Lee Hilborn

Thorne Lee Hilborn, age 75, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023. He was born on October 23, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to Robert and Connie Hilborn. Thorne was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1965. Thorne served as an E5 Specialist in the Army from 1967-1970. He married Rubylene Ardella Henderson in 1967 and the couple had three children. He was a insulator at Pipefitters Union 121 where he worked for more than 20 years.

In his spare time Thorne enjoyed fishing, auto mechanics and generally workin with his hands. He was a mentor role model for many others than just his family. His family and friends will always remember him as strong, funny and known for giving of nicknames. He had a wealth of knowledge that many grew to depend on.

Thorne is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby; son, Everett; mother, father and brothers, Robert and Norman Hilborn. Left to cherish his memory is son,Thorne Wayne Hilborn and wife Amy; daughter, Marcelle Campbell and husband TJ; grandchildren, Brandon Campbell, Robert Allen Hilborn, Jonathan Michael Hilborn, Jennifer Korges, Chelsie Avery, Jodie Campbell, Joshua Hilborn, Vincent Garcia and Mariza Garcia; great-grandchildren, David Korges, Kaleb Korges, Daisy Flanagan, Abel Flanagan, Saelor Grace Hilborn, Carson Poe, Isaac Wayne Hilborn, Zachary Lee Hilborn, Royce Alessandro Avena and Jonah Hilborn; sister, Donna Curtis and a host of extended family members and friends.

A visitation for Thorne will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A committal service will occur Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228.
