

Victor John Muse, Jr (94) – passed peacefully to his eternal reward on May 6, 2023 in Irving, Texas. Vic was born to Victor and Anastasia Muse on November 20, 1928 in Dallas, Texas. He was a 1947 graduate of Jesuit College Prep and soon after began his career at Armstrong Cork Company which later became Kerr Packaging where he progressed through the ranks and retired in 1988 as a Divisional Vice-President over the Arlington crown production facility.
Vic married Margie Leverette on November 17, 1951 at St Edwards Catholic Church in Dallas and the couple have been parishioners at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch for over 50 years. He was very active in the Knights of Columbus council 5052 in Farmers Branch and served as a past Grand Knight. He was also a long-time member of the Notre Dame Assembly of the 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus. At the time of his death, he was a resident of St Joseph’s Village retirement village in Coppell, Texas.
Since his high school days, the priests of the Jesuit order provided a positive influence and his association with the Jesuits lasted throughout his life. Vic served on the board at Montserrat Retreat House in Lake Dallas and was an annual retreatant for 60 years. Many a Jesuit priest spent the Thanksgiving holiday at the Muse house where dinner began only after mass was celebrated. That tradition lasted more than 50 years and was something that his extended family would look forward to every year and it was common that attendance would exceed 100 at the small 3 bedroom house on Sundial.
He is survived by his wife Margie and their seven children – Kathy Price and her husband Ted of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Jerry Muse and his wife Terri of Carrollton, Texas, Susie Robinson and her husband Steve of Fort Collins, Colorado; Julie Muse of Dallas, Texas; Carol Griffin and her husband Ben of Madison, Mississippi; Becky Duncan and her husband Rick of Bedford, Texas; Greg Muse and his wife Audrey of Flower Mound, Texas; and 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:30pm on Thursday, May 11 at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church located at 2800 Valwood Parkway in Farmers Branch, Texas. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:30am and a recitation of the rosary will take place at 12:00pm in the church. A reception will follow at Knights of Columbus located at 2280 Springlake Rd #100, Farmers Branch, Texas.
