Uncle Jay was such a wonderful role model to have growing up. He taught all of us kids at Maranatha so many important life lessons. He was also so supportive of us and was first to be there to help with whatever was going on. From acting in any of our plays or praise dance performances, to being our own personal chef on our camping trips, Uncle Jay was there with that million dollar smile ready to make magic happen. You could always count on him. Some of my personal favorite memories was the quite early mornings at the Pathfinder camporees when it was just him and I getting breakfast ready for everyone. He would tell me amazing stories from his life while showing me how to make the most delicious food. He would also always tease me through the years of how one day, after many Deliverance praise dance performances of me being a beat behind all the other girls, I finally found my rhythm and got my groove. I knew he was teasing me out of love because he was proud of me and truly cared about my growth as a dancer. Uncle Jay always cared about us and I'm so grateful  that a grew up with him being the Uncle I never had. He is so greatly missed but his legacy will live on within my family. I cannot wait to tell my future children about him while making, what is special to me, one of his tasty split hot dogs. Sending lots of love and big hugs to Aunt Virginia and the whole family. Thank you for sharing him with all of us. May God continue to bless your family and comfort you during this challenging time.

Our love and prayers to all the family. Papa Jay aka Uncle Jay was one of the greatest additions to the Tibbs Family and will be dearly missed. We send hugs and kisses to you Mama/Auntie Virginia. We share your tears and the pain. You and Uncle Jay have loved us from the beginning and have never ceased. We love you just the same and will never stop. Our hearts are hurting but yet we smile knowing that Papa Jay’s final destination is Heaven.

I don’t know where to begin as I’m still processing what’s happened. But I miss you daily and not being able to call/FaceTime you will be an adjustment. I loved just coming over randomly and you’d ask me to drive you to the store. The simplest memories are what I’ll cherish most. Thank you for always loving us and always being there for us. We love and miss you dearly and even though you are not here physically; I know you’re watching over all of us spiritually. I’ll hold on to the memories, jokes, and especially your stories. Rest in peace Papa Norman. I know you’re here. I love you.

Cousin Jay, Man of God I've always known you to be a loving husband to Virginia, a great father to your children, a super son to your mother, a lovingly brother to your sisters, and supportive/engaging to your many nephews and nieces, cousins, friends, fellow saints, and strangers.

The measure of a man who loved without reservation is incalculable. Pop, thank you for being the best dad a girl could hope for. I am eternally grateful for being welcomed in and poured into. I send my deepest condolences to our beloved Norman’s family.  Norman has been a God send to me after I had a massive stroke 10 years ago. Norman visited me in the hospital and rehab he prayed for and with me. After returning home he went on walks with me to help in my rehabilitation and he would come to just hang out. Norman also stepped in to help me teach my son valuable lessons  by showing  him  what it meant to do for and be of service to others.  Norman was  a   Big brother,  mentor , and beloved friend  to me in deed he is deeply missed. I know I’ll see him again. Absent from the body is to be present with the lord. I am comforted in the knowledge that Norman was a strong man of God and faithful servant and  is indeed present with the Lord.  I know  I will see him again. Until then rest well. Love you Norman. I’m praying for Gods comfort and peace to be with the family and  dearest friends during  their time of need.🙏🏽♥️💋🙏🏽♥️💋

Sending my sincerest condolences and prayers to the beautiful family of William "Jay" Norman. I met both Jay & Virginia when he was a patient in the ICU at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Waxahachie back in mid 2023. He had been my patient a couple of different times. The last inpatient stay was the most memorable as he prayed for me before I went back to work. That was so profound as he was the patient. That visit brought us to exchanging numbers and from then on, we remained close. It was then when I was referred to as their goddaughter. Being that I was new to Texas and didn't really know anyone outside of work, this made me feel good and special. We've spent time together and I've gone to visit them at their beautiful home. I will miss his wisdom and always remember times spent together. I love you so much Nino and I'll see you when I get there. Nina, I'm always here for you and a phone call away. I love you both so much! I'm blessed to have come into your lives & appreciate the wisdom shared. ❤️

This picture was taken on my wedding day and my a Nino (godfather) gave me away. 😢 We had a lengthy talk before and after I got married. I will always cherish those talks with both he and my Nina. It's hard to believe he's no longer with us but I'm comforted in knowing I'll see him when it's my turn to go home.

This picture was taken in April of 2024. This was my first time visiting my godparents. We sat and chatted for a little while. I always enjoyed spending time with both of them. You will truly be missed, Nino. 😢❤️

Rest in paradise Mr. Norman. Thank you for being such an example of a wonderful soul. Thank you for organizing the CDCR retirement breakfast and for all the conversations and heart felt prayers at those breakfasts. You will forever be loved and never forgotten. The Lord was happy with your work and awarded you the ultimate reward. We will meet again my friend. Until then , save me a spot.

May God send a Legion of Angels to guard the resting place of this dedicated and kind BELIEVER,
until  Resurrection Day.
I will miss his concern for me at the Bible Workers Annual Rally, after the death of my beloved husband.
