William Ryan Pyffer, known affectionately as Ryan by his family and friends, left this world on December 25, 2024, at the age of 49. Born on April 16, 1975, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ryan's early years were filled with the boundless beauty of the Rocky Mountains, which instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for nature and adventure. His final moments were spent in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Ryan faced colorectal cancer with the same tenacity and courage that characterized his entire life.
Ryan graduated from Sheridan High School in Colorado, where he was a standout track athlete, demonstrating early on his dedication to excellence and team spirit. He had a short stint at Western State Colorado University in Gunnison, where he ultimately decided to move to Dallas to pursue a career in music.
Ryan's passion for music was evident to all who knew him. He was a talented musician, singer, and songwriter, and the front man of several bands in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. His love for a myriad of different music genres shone through in his performances, captivating audiences with his vibrant energy and soulful voice.
Professionally, Ryan was known for his keen business acumen and leadership skills. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Tierney and Pyffer Construction, where his innovative vision and tireless work ethic were instrumental in the company's success. T&P was a business he cultivated carefully and meticulously crafted from humble beginnings and not without its struggles. He recently served as the Vice President of trades at JPI Real Estate Development company, where he was respected for his strategic insights and ability to foster growth.
A fiercely devoted father and husband, Ryan cherished his wife of 19 years, Margaret Pyffer, and their two children, William Wesley and Adena. He instilled in them the values of love, humor, kindness, tenacity and resilience. Ryan's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took great pride in supporting and celebrating their accomplishments.
Ryan's mother, Lorraine Pohlman, father, William Joseph Pyffer, and sister, Monica Pyffer, remember him as a beacon of light and laughter in their lives. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.
Beyond his family and professional life, Ryan was an avid jiu-jitsu student and enthusiast. He approached the martial art with the same fervor he brought to every aspect of his life, constantly seeking to learn and improve. His dedication to the sport was not only about personal achievement but also about the community and camaraderie he found on the mats.
Those who knew Ryan would describe him as funny, courageous, and passionate. He faced life's challenges with a smile and never hesitated to lend a helping hand or share a joke to lighten the mood. His courage was not just evident in his battle with cancer, but in the way he lived each day with authenticity and fervor.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Ryan embodied this sentiment, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and music that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Ryan's life was a beautiful symphony; a composition of joy, love, and resilience that played out in the hearts of those he touched. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led and the indelible mark he has left on the world. His memory will be cherished and his spirit will live on in the melodies that dance through the air, in the laughter of his children, and in the stories shared by those who loved him. Rest in peace, Ryan, your song will never be forgotten.
