Willie Jean Conner was born in Cherokee County, Texas on May 22, 1942, to mother, Earline Jones, later becoming the daughter to Smith McArthur. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1960, in Wichita Falls, Texas. In high school, Jean was a member of the dance team, a majorette, a member of the yearbook committee, also, sang in the Harry T. Burleigh Acapella Choir, and a member of Welch Street Church of Christ. She attended college at Long Beach Community College, in Long Beach, California.
Jean married the love of her life on August 10, 1968, and served alongside of his 20 year military service. Jean was a devoted educator with emotionally handicapped students. She served in the capacity as a teacher’s assistant for 10 years before retiring.
After retiring, she and her husband owned / co-owned/ operated two family restaurants: OJT’s in Lynn Haven, Florida, and C&T’s in Duncanville, Texas.
Jean accepted the call of God in 1979 and started her lady's prayer and Bible study in her home. This was the start of her women’s ministry and multiple ministries to follow. She served alongside her husband Ozell, in ministry, at Tyndall Air Force Base Chapel One. She and her husband were led by God to start their tent ministry, “Prosperity Ministries.” Where they traveled from Florida to Texas and The United Kingdom, sharing the love of Jesus Christ with all she came into contact with. Jean valued education and became formal student of God’s Word by earning her Associate's Degree in Biblical Studies from Gulf Coast Seminary in Panama City, Florida. After moving to Texas, she and her husband became pastors of Everlasting Baptist Church Dallas for 4 years. Following their pastoral commitment and her husband’s passing, she became a faithful member of Dayspring Worship Center in Lancaster, Texas and remained until she went to meet the Lord.
On May 22, 2025, Jean was reunited with her husband Ozell Conner; mother, Earline Jones Wherry; brother, Wallace McArthur; daughter, Sonya Rogers; and grandson, Darryl Rogers.
She leaves to mourn: one son, Monte Block (Crystal); one daughter, Vera Davis (John);grandchildren, Dalicia Rogers, Ashley Randle, Montrell Block, Josalynn Davis, Jonathon Davis, and Jaquelynn Davis; great grandchildren, Da’Marcus Heard, Darryl Heard, Zoey Heard, Alanah Sharp, and Alacie Sharp; great-great grandchild, Kelan Heard; three sisters, Veralene McArthur, Rechelle McArthur, and Renee McArthur; one brother, Ravia McArthur and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many spiritual sons, daughters, and dear friends.
