She was born January 18, 1923, in Whitesboro, Texas, and was one of 4 daughters born to John and Winnie Ross.
She was married to Joe E Jones on January 4th, 1943. In her early years, she was a seamstress; her sewing was so beautiful and perfect you would have sworn it was done on a sewing machine. After marriage, she became a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, fishing, camping and she loved watching Texas wrestling with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joe E Jones, and three daughters: Carolyn J Castleman, Barbara E Redford, and Diane M Simmons. Her five sisters: Pauline Kirkland (Presnall), Johnnie Delighon Nicholson, Dora Faye Johns, Gertrude May Reiter, and Imogene Ingle.
She is survived by one daughter, Martha Coker (Kelly) of Mesquite, Texas. Four grandchildren: Teresa Wyble, Joseph Castleman, Traci Ice, and John Simmons. Two great grandchildren: James Martinez and Derrick Ice. Four great great grandchildren: Aaliyah Martinez, Shelby and Brandon Castleman, Johnathon Simmons. She has many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
