

Cantu, Yolanda Consuelo Yolanda Consuelo Garza Cantu of Dallas, Texas, died on Tuesday, the 31st of October 2017. She was surrounded by love and prayer from family and friends at the time of her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Consuelo and Salvador Garza, and her brother, Salvador Garza. Born on June 2, 1943 in Dallas, Texas, she attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. She married and had three children. While raising her family, she worked for many years in the textile industry as a trim buyer for various companies including Jerell, Inc., Victor Costa and Gotcha Covered. Yolanda was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was especially close to her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Nana”. She loved cooking and baking for her family, especially for the holidays. She was a member of the Asociacion Guadalupana for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Michael Cantu, Timothy Cantu and Clarissa Arellano (spouse, Marco Arellano), grandchildren Monica Cantu, Vanessa Cantu, Michael C. Cantu, Timothy B. Cantu, Jr., Christian Cantu, Emily Cantu, Antonio Arellano, Alicia Arellano, Carla Flores and great grand-children Jasmine Cantu, Angel Zapien, Dominick Figueroa, Heavenly Sanchez, Levi Sanchez, Isabella Castillo. She will be greatly missed. Gonzalez Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
