She was born April 3, 1953 in Dallas, Texas to Jesus and Velia Villegas.
She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1971. Rebel pride!
In a whirlwind love story she met and married John H. Jenkins Jr.; they raised 8 children, which was not an easy task, but together they made it work.
We will remember Yolanda as a smiling, loving, powerful woman and a devoted wife and mother. Her door was always open to her children’s friends, whom she welcomed into the family.
For 20 years, she worked nights at a local Denny’s but always made it home in time to send her kids off to school and to make cupcakes for school parties. When her children came home they could always expect to see her with a Pepsi in her hand and Oprah on the television.
She loved music and books, and of course running her hand across slot machines at the casino or fluffing the hair of her troll doll as she played bingo.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus & Velia Villegas, Sister Linda Sanchez, and granddaughter Gabriella Jenkins.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years John H Jenkins Jr. and her (8) children and their spouses.
