“Angela Marie” was born in Yonkers, New York to Perina (Picani) and Michael Gariola on September 23, 1935, and raised by Perina and Joseph Pergola. Angela graduated Yonkers High School in 1953, where she was Drum Majorette for the school marching band and the Frank A. Rea Post. She married childhood sweetheart Joseph Comizio on April 12, 1958.
Angela worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Troiano of Yonkers, before moving to New Fairfield in 1966. While raising her four sons, she also found time to provide home care for the elderly. In 1978 she began working at Danbury Hospital as intake/registration for the outpatient clinic, where she worked until her retirement and made dear friends. She moved to Delray Beach, FL in 2022. The legacy Angela leaves behind is in her sons and her selflessness, as she sacrificed everything for the good of her boys.
Angela is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Joseph (2015), youngest son Anton (2014) and her parents (Joseph and Perina).
Angela is survived by her sons Joseph (Gordona), Ronald (Lisa) and Richard (Rebecca), sister Rosalie (Dr. Robert Comizio), brother Joseph (Maureen) and her 10 grandchildren: Christina, Daniella, Gabriella, Joseph, Nicholas, Christopher, Kiana, Nikaela, Tysen and Kobe, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
