

Anthony R. Ongaro, 80, of Danbury, CT, passed away unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital on March 7, 2012 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Elena Del Monte Ongaro. Born in Bergamo, Italy on December 8, 1931, he was one of four sons born to the late Bernardo and Linda Ongaro. He came to the United States in 1953 and was a stone mason for over 40 years. A member of St. Joseph Church in Danbury, he was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in his yard.
Besides his wife of 54 years, survivors include his daughter Donna M. Palmer and her husband, Jody, of Southbury. Two granddaughters: Lauren and Kristen Palmer. Several nieces and nephews, as well as countless other friends and family, whom were blessed to know him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10am at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum of St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Friends will be received on Monday morning from 8:30 until 9:30 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
