Bruce Wayne Marchisio, age 69, died peacefully on January 28, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Meriden, Connecticut on November 8, 1956, to Alice Martin and the late Robert Marchisio.
Bruce grew up in Bethel CT and had many friends. One of his favorite things to do when he was younger was playing football in the backyard of his Vining Road home. In his teenage years, he and his friends enjoyed working on, and driving around in his hot rod Camaro and 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass. After graduating from Bethel High School Bruce began his career working at Premier Maintenance Inc. (PMI), a facilities maintenance company as Operations Supervisor. He managed many corporate accounts and directed a large staff. After many years with PMI, Bruce wanted to work closer to home for his family. He transitioned his career to a management position with a home and commercial inspection company, followed by shifting to a Logistics Administrator position with Hologic, a medical device manufacturer located in Danbury. Bruce always took great pride in his work, no matter the job. He put his best foot forward in work, and in life.
Bruce loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and many sports including downhill and cross-country skiing, ice skating, biking, swimming, hiking, kayaking (especially in Maine with family), and fishing. Bruce was an early morning riser for his fishing outings, whether solo or with his buddies. He enjoyed taking in the peaceful scenery and casting a line into the still waters. But his true passion was running, completing 3 marathons: New York twice and the Marine Corp Marathon in Washington DC, and countless half marathons,10K and 5K races. His dedication to the sport and his love for it was clear. He would get out for runs rain or shine, and even in the snow. He was a true athlete throughout his life, something that he proudly instilled in and passed on to his eldest daughter Michelle from a young age.
His love for the outdoors stretched beyond sports. He took great pride in our property, planting vegetable gardens and flowers throughout the yard. Over the years the outings to prep for the gardens was something he and his younger daughter Dianna greatly enjoyed doing together.
He also had a love for figuring out how things worked. If something was not working properly, or was broken, he would figure it out and fix it, often better than the original. He was resourceful, creative, and loved a good challenge.
Bruce was someone you could always count on. He was quiet in nature and was extremely loyal and kind. He was always true and steadfast. His daughters meant everything to him. They were the light of his life.
Bruce fought a courageous battle and displayed remarkable strength of will. Even in his most difficult moments, he continued striving to improve in any way he could. He will be remembered for his perseverance in life, true nature, and unending love for his family. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Laura (Mazza) Marchisio, his daughter Michelle Marchisio and her fiancé, Woody Hurd, and daughter Dianna Marchisio; his mother Alice Ceranowicz; his sisters Susan Marchisio, Diane Ravenda (Matt), Rachel Marchisio, Kay Marchisio, his brother-in-law Al Mazza, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Bruce was predeceased by his father, Robert, and his beloved dog Coco whom he always referred to as “my buddy.”
A memorial gathering will be held on February 15, 2026, from 12:00-2:00PM at Green Funeral Home 57 Main St., Danbury, CT, where a service of remembrance will be held at 1:30PM.
