

Cathleen was born in Danbury, CT on October 31, 1927, daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine (Woods) Betts and has been a lifelong resident since. She graduated from Danbury High School as well as the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1948. She spent her entire Nursing career at Danbury Hospital. She was Night Supervisor of Nursing for 30 years and was a discharge planning coordinator for 10 years. She retired in 1987. Cathleen was involved with DATHAR for many years as a volunteer nurse. She was on the board of the local chapter of the American Heart Association. She served as president of the Danbury Drum Corps Auxiliary. Cathleen was a chapter member of the Berkshire Travelers and Good Sam's Camping Club of Connecticut. She enjoyed camping and family gatherings. She will be deeply missed.
Cathleen is survived by her children Cathleen Stillson Frade of New Milford, CT. Dr. Linford Stillson and his wife Carlene of Gorham, ME. Gail Stillson, Peter and his wife Kathleen Stillson, Joan Stillson Stoeckle, Harold and his wife Ellen Stillson and Salley Stillson Profeta, all of Danbury. Fourteen grandchildren: Casey Aakjar, David Frade, Danielle Niesz, Andrea and Gena Stillson, Meghan and Mark Stillson, Kaitlyn Profeta, Mairead, Deireann, Bridget, and Ciara Stillson and Sean and Eric Stoeckle; four great-grandchildren: Trisha Stevenson, Elizabeth Shumway, Rebekah Nieman, Kathryn Niesz. One great great grandchild Rhiannon Aakjar. Cathleen was predeceased by her husband of 51 years Linford E. Stillson and her son David W. Stillson.
A mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, June 27, 2011 at 10:30am at St. Peters Church in Danbury, CT. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury CT on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5pm.
